EXIT Festival

Novi Sad, Serbia

EXIT Festival is undoubtedly the biggest festival in the region. Held annually in Novi Sad, Serbia, it features a wide variety of genres spread across about a dozen different stages. With a tradition dating back quarter of a century, it is now known as one of the biggest and most well-known music festivals across the continent.

The festival started as a student-lead pro-democracy movement in 2000. The first edition took place at the campus of the University of Novi Sad and lasted almost 100 days, ending days before the general elections which lead to the overthrow of Slobodan Milošević. 25 years later, a new generation of students is protesting on the streets of Serbia once again. Due to EXIT Festival's support of the protests, it lost the financial support of all levels of government. In 2026, for the first time in its history, EXIT Festival will not take place in Serbia, with international offshoots set to continue as usual.
